CLASSES All of our classes are taught by professionals in the acting industry |
| Our classes will inspire the actor to be confident and to believe in their imagination. They will learn to develop objectives and to find the through line of an action. The student will gain confidence by studying a wide variety of techniques. The actor will explore performance by use of improv, scene study, method acting, production development and story telling. Many classes will explore these studies by involving theatre, film, mask, movement and voice. Our classes will connect our students to professionals in the industry such as directors, agents and actors. They will have the opportunity through workshops to meet and work with dynamic industry insiders. We offer only 10 spaces per class ensuring that each student has an equal opportunity to learn and perform. |

ACTING TECHNIQUE FOR CHILDREN 7 to 12 year olds |
| The young actor will develop a solid technique through fun improv games and acting exercises. They will focus on story telling, monologues and presenting a variety of performance styles. This class will start to play with voice and movement inspiring confidence in their performances. It will involve the use of masks, dialects and the study of period pieces. Each student will have the opportunity to explore the exciting process of auditioning on- camera for commercials and film. |

ACTING TECHNIQUE FOR TEENS 13 to 17 year olds |
| The actors in this class will have fun exploring different performance styles. They will learn to use their voices and movement in a variety of audition techniques. Students will play with comedy improv cultivating a level of freedom in their performances. Be it onstage or in front of a camera, they will have the opportunity to develop their performances with other acting students. The actors will explore the use of dialects, masks and on- camera auditions. The teens in this class will play with making an emotional connection to character. The class will participate in techniques for commercials, film, theatre and voice in animation. |

THE ACTING CENTER SUMMER CAMP INTENSIVE 7 to 13 year olds |
| This summer The Acting Center will work with the actors to explore some of their favourite scenes from movies, t.v. and plays. Each day will start with improv games, vocal warm-ups and scenes with masks, props, movement and music. The campers will have the opportunity to participate in the shooting of a short film. They will collaborate on script, costumes, props, voice and overall production. It will be a thrill for each performer to play the role of actor, director and producer and take home a dvd copy of their masterpiece on the last day! We will continue to make new friends and share plenty of laughter in this unique camp experience. Camp days run from 8:30am to 4:30pm (complimentary early pick up and late drop off) at the Guelph Youth Music Centre. Actors will need to bring a lunch, two snacks (nut free), sun hat and water each day to camp. The actors will celebrate on Friday with a pizza party lunch provided by The Acting Center. This will include one or two pieces of pizza, milk and fresh fruit. There are only 12 spots available per camp week. The Acting Center Camp will be led by Artistic Directors Zoe Heath and Jake Simons. |

ADULT ACTING FOR FUN 18 and older |
| This creative class will cover acting technique through improv, script work, voice and movement. This class is an excellent way to have a laugh and build confidence while doing it. All levels of experience are welcome. Only 8 spots per class. |
