The Acting Center is located in the Guelph Youth Music Centre in Guelph Ontario. The center is a place where children, teens and adults can go to have fun cultivating and expressing their creative side while instilling confidence in an encouraging environment. Our company is run by working actors who bring with them invaluable practical experience.
We are committed to providing our acting students with the opportunity and tools to discover, nurture, and explore their own uniqueness and merge that into their work. Workshops with industry professionals such as writers, directors, actors and agents will be offered throughout the year. The Acting Center is an exciting and dynamic place where students will learn techniques relevant not only to performing, but for future success in all walks of life.

Heather Rogers- Parent From there, we ate a bit, and we shuttled (those awesomely generous hosts again) a couple of km to the Guelph Youth Music Centre where we had a TERRIFIC acting workshop for almost 3 hours. Zoe and Jake took us through a number of improv warm ups and had us all in stitches for most of the time. I was amazed at the courage of ALL of the singers. Some of them are somewhat shy, but Jake and Zoe immediately created this environment of play, of “YES”, of acceptance, of support for one another, of patience… so that ALL singers had opportunities to be solo actors and improvisors throughout the afternoon. Brilliant on the part of the instructors and on the part of those kids who stepped WAY out of their comfort zones in front of their peers. I’m in awe of them. I’m not sure that I have their same courage. Honestly. I kept looking at their faces- just totally gleaming and beaming with joy and total engagement with each other. So totally lost in the moment. So cool to be there as a witness. We also got Jake to help us with our staging of La Villanella.
